The National Summit is the leading policy event for the physical activity sector, drawing 700 decision makers and influencers from across public health, sport, business, national and local government, charity, and the wider physical activity sector – all of whom share ukactive’s commitment to getting more people, more active, more often. Previous speakers have included NHS England Chief Executive Simon Stevens, Sport England Chief Executive Jennie Price, Sports Minister Tracey Crouch and decorated Paralympian Dame Sarah Storey OBE.
Whereas last year focused on the practical delivery of ukactive’s Blueprint for an Active Britain, this year the Summit will examine how society should, and can, harness the powerful benefits of physical activity, recognising it as a “golden thread” that runs through the nation’s consciousness. We will discuss physical activity as being one of the solutions to the collective health and wellbeing of the nation, and its role in supporting issues such as an ageing society, social cohesion, and shaping the future health of children and young people. Building on last year’s agenda, top-tier speakers will be announced over the coming months.
